Now Open: Canada Recovery Benefit & Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit Applications
October 5, 2020

Dear Scarborough-Rouge Park,

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all, including Canadian families, workers, and businesses across the country. To help Canadians, our Government acted quickly and implemented a series of benefits to ensure families could continue to pay their bills and put food on their table.

In the second pillar of the Speech from the Throne, our Government ensured that we will do whatever it takes to support Canadians through this crisis, for as long as it lasts. That starts with our CERB to EI Transition Plan as folks end their CERB payments, but are still unable to go back to work.

Our three new programs – the Recovery Benefit, the Sickness Benefit, and the Caregiving Benefit –  are here for you as we all fight COVID-19, together. The Sickness and Caregiving Benefit is now open for applications and the Recovery Benefit will be open starting next week. Starting today, we’re moving forward with programs that go directly to Canadians.

If you have any questions about the three programs, the eligibility criteria or the application process, please do not hesitate to contact me at my office at 416-283-1414 or [email protected] with any questions or inquiries.

Yours truly,

Gary Anandasangaree
